A tact is a type of verbal behavior in which a child labels or names something they see, hear, feel, or experience. Examples include naming a dog, saying a color, or identifying an emotion. In ABA therapy, tacting helps children expand language beyond requesting so they can comment on and interact with the world around them. Parents exploring communication development may also find ABA Builds Social Skills helpful.
